Great to hear all went well. Enjoy the time you have with him.

Glad the NWA agent put your mind at ease but really that is just another example of the flaws in the system. There is no way she should have told you his ticket had been scanned. The airlines are not supposed to release information about who is or is not on a plane, particularly when it is still en route.

I absolutely agree that NWA should not have given me this info, and I was shocked that she did. I told her I knew she couldn’t tell me if he was on the plane, but would she just acknowledge that there was enough time for him to go through customs and catch his last flight, or at least let me know if any individuals from his flight from Amsterdam made it to the next flight. When she told me that they had scanned his boarding pass–I was happy to know he was on the flight but aghast that she would actually verify that a specific individual was on a specific flight.

Safe travels to all the kids traveling. It’s somewhat nice to know that S’s school isn’t the only one that starts too early in January.

A word to the wise. Do NOT watch a sad movie with the whole family on the day that one of them is heading back to school. I cried at every bit that was slightly sad… Feeling better now that he is actually on his way back to school, and will be fine once he calls and says he is back with his tribe.
