"Miamidap - you go on many vacations (cruise), which I don’t think OP could necessary afford to do for quite some time. "
-i cannot physically go on cruise even if it is my dream vacation. I go on vacation, that is true. I also pay tuition which is completely out of somebody else mind. Nobody is forcing anybody to do anything. But why to ask for advice and then attack an advisor? And paying $79 would be way too much for me. But I would not be going to NYC right now, I would rather starve if I have to. Again, everybody has their preferences. If you do not want others advising you, then do not ask, as simple as that, nobody is up to getting attacked for what they say.

Who is on first?

OP wasn’t asking for “advice” (read “an attack on his/her values/morals”). OP was asking how to get to Queens.

At one point things got so ridiculous on this thread that the same poster who told OP not to come here under any circumstances also encouraged thousands of others to come here for the marathon!

“Rather starve than go to NYC”? Really? I will say it again. NYC is huge. There are vast areas where your visit is more than welcome and your tourist dollars are needed.

Canceling the marathon made total sense, as it travels through blighted areas and is a drain on NYC resources. Insisting that 1 individual who wants to continue with plans to visit friends and work but just isn’t sure of the best way to get around due to transit system interruptions and changes has to cancel that trip is just hysteria.
