<p>I got a letter saying I’m in the top 50,000 or something. I’m guessing its for commended? They don’t send out the SemiFinalist ones until September, right?</p>

<p>that letter means you’re either commended or semifinalist. the same letter goes to both. they’ll tell you if you’re commended or semi in september.</p>
<p>Pred, there aren’t many schools (and no Ivies) that will give mony for Commended; it almost always starts at Semi.</p>
<p>The two schools you pick now is to show interest only. If you make semi or finalist later, you will ask to pick your no. 1 school which will have some bearing on scholarship.</p>
