COMMENTS PLEASE!!! my college admissions essay for uf

In my life, one event will not be sufficient for this prompt; rather a series of events. Through seventeen years, I have attended many schools and resided in countless towns for none other than the fact that my mother liked to move. Not many individuals - especially those who live in the small, quaint town of Satellite Beach - have ever been subjected to this unpredictable lifestyle.
Through my elementary years, although my mother apathetically believed I was too young to be affected by it, enrolled me in three different schools. I conditioned myself to not become close to any other students. My diffident attitude handicapped and hindered me from sustaining any meaningful relationships with my peers. Despite my young age, these situations were setting the stage for my future.
Middle school was tough. Again, I was in a different school where I knew on one; however, this time it was different. I was now enrolled in The University School of Nova Southeastern University. A highly regarded private school that served as the academic institution for children of celebrities and individuals of high socio-economic status. I on the other hand, had no status. In this environment, I had an even more difficult time making friends and becoming involved in my school. Although most of the students were benevolent, I did not have the social skills that many of them acquired at age six. I was shy, reserved, and unwilling to make a change. There was no need to. I would be moving soon anyway.
By the end of my middle school career, I was ready and willing to make a change. We were preparing to move again and my mother promised this would be the last time. It was my freshman year, the start of a new life, a new me. I realized I could no longer be the detached, isolated girl that I was formerly.
Now, in my senior year of high school, I have made friendships with people that I am confident will last throughout my lifetime and have become involved in many clubs, organizations and sports. The barriers that I worked my entire life to build are now being torn down: by my own choice. I look at my classmates and realize that most them have lived here since they were born. They were never concerned about which school they would attend or if they would make new friends. However, in many ways I am glad for the events that transpired throughout my life. Because of my experiences, I have learned to be an independent, self-motivating person who will never allow myself to shy from my goal of being the best that I can be. If accepted into UF, my goal will be to exert my energy into making sure that I make a positive contribution to the college and to my community. Although not predictable, my life experiences have shaped me into the person I am today and I would not change that for the world.
