April 30 at 11:59 pm or May 1 at 11:50 pm? i’m still working out some FA issues with the office and need to know!!! it’s between here and SD med scholars…

May 1, 2012 before midnight. Check with the schools.

I would definitely check with the schools and not rely on what’s on a bulletin board website. Its a simple question easily answered.

[Application Deadlines & Fees : Stanford University](http://www.stanford.edu/dept/uga/application/deadlines/index.html)
May 1, 11:59 Pacific Standard Time
Please commit early so we don’t have to hear you whining and crying about missing the deadline.

What is going to work out with the FA between today and tomorrow? At this point, it is what it is. Not to derail you, but the UCSD med scholar program is a great option as well.

good point about FA, the office has been completely useless, they say they will respond in a couple weeks. Other schools like Harvard, Yale, and Caltech have been the complete opposite, promising and delivering a FA updates prior to May 1st, I have been quite impressed by these schools. Stanford on the other hand makes me worry that this is the way their administration is with everything.

^Useless FA office? Maybe you waited until the last minute. We had very prompt and professional responses in early April.

Yes compared to Harvard, Yale, Caltech and a number of other schools (actually every other school my son applied to) they were completely useless/unhelpful. All these schools had the same amount of time to review updated info and only Stanford did not. Sure they were completely willing to set up meetings to discuss but the meetings were absolutely pointless as all the said is they will review in a couple of weeks, they could have just said that over the phone. Other schools said they would even review other school offers before May 1st. Some schools like Columbia actually went in the complete opposite direction sending an e-mail Friday asking if we would like them to consider aid offers from other schools.

To be fair Renomamma, we are talking such a small amount of aid (if they end up offering any- which I don’t think they will) that perhaps they are much more helpful and concentrate on students that have greater need. The point of my initial post was that at other schools it is not uncommon for the schools to update aid before the deadline and I got sidetracked with the frustration I have experienced with their office.

All I’m saying is that we submitted an appeal in early April and had our FA adjusted within 2 days, so I was just surprised to hear the term "useless ". We did jump on it early and maybe that helped.

Wow, we did early April also, so maybe it is luck of the draw, I guess that is the way with every school, we all have different experiences.
