Common ap question...check box so counselor can preview applicaiton or no?

When filling out the common ap there is a box to check if you want to allow your counselor to preview a PDF of your application. Should you check yes? Does it matter? We do not have a counselor who will be helping or would be helpful and take the time to examine the application? But should we check “yes” anyway? Does it look like you are uncomfortable with something you’ve said if you don’t? Thank you for any guidance anyone can provide.

@Empireapple No. it doesn’t look like you are uncomfortable with something by not checking the box. It is not necessary to check it. Some people hire counselors who help with the application process and this is helpful for them to review their apps for errors and completeness. Prior to this option a student would have to give a counselor their sign in and password in order to view their common app. This eliminates them having to share their passwords. By sharing this information it also allowed anyone who had it to change the info your app. Not sure what this new access to the common app gives others regarding making changes to the common app but it may be just viewing privileges without the ability to make any unauthorized changes. Maybe someone else has that info?? But…again no need to check if you aren’t giving access to anyone who is reviewing. No negative implications.

pkcahmp89…thank you very, very much.
