Is it a bad thing if my common app essay and my supplementary essay both pertain to events experienced in the same timeframe? I mean, I visited my homeland this summer and two different vital things happened to me–the concepts involved in each essay are radically different, but the time and place they took place are the same. Also, I use an anecdote involving children in both essays. Is this a bad idea?

I don’t know… I think it’s your own judgment call. You want to show as much of who you are as possible through those two essays though.

Bump please?
