<p>A positive message is no longer so easy to come by in modern hip-hop, although it comes easily to rap artist XV (pronounced X-V). Born and raised in Wichita, Kansas, where the hip hop scene still has little to no relevance, XV is a role model who shows that following dreams is what matters, not where you originate from. He shows that it is totally acceptable to be different. He does this by talking about unusual topics in his music such as video games, cartoons, art, movies, and being the unpopular kid in school. When one listens to his music he comes across as more than just another rapper, but also a friend. He is someone who understands what its like to be on the bottom of the hierarchy and to have a hunger for the top. His music offers a different perception of the world, where anything and everything is achievable, and anyone has the opportunity to be the cream of the crop.</p>
<pre><code>In the small town of Schuylkill Haven, Pennsylvania, the population is roughly 5,500, and everyone has similar plans for the remainder of their life. It appears to me that most have a plan that consists of attending a local college and staying in the area. This is not the life I want to lead. However, if it were not for XVs musical influence, I do not believe I would’ve ever even considered leaving this small town for a larger city a potential option. I have the ambition to live in a larger area with an abundance of career opportunities and a diverse community. It seems that no on in the town I inhabit even considers it a possibility to leave the town behind to peruse a city life. XV helps me remember that no matter where you originate from, its all about following your dreams, and that there isnt anything wrong with being different from the rest.
XV has made a larger impact on my life than most people I have actually met in person. His music delivers a message of optimism and motivation that everyone needs. If it were not for XVs musical determination, I would be attending a local college and leaving my dreams behind me. Having the opportunity to follow my dreams is a humble and empowering feeling. One day, I would like to help someone else have the same opportunity by spreading the same positive and motivational message.
