<p>I have approximately 1100 words in my common app essay… and I have no idea how to cut down because at this point, I’ve cut through all the fluff and it’s pretty much economized to mere substance. Will this hurt me?</p>
<p>Most guidance counselors/ admissions officers that I have talked to suggest keeping it around 2 pages. They want to get to know you – but they also only have so much time to do so.</p>
<p>Still, this is just a suggestion. If you really think your essay is the strongest it can be as is, then use it.</p>
<p>Mine is about the same length, and I’m not that worried.</p>
