<p>It is very, very long. 1082 words is pretty hefty reading for an adcom. Instead of elaborating on three or four examples of your teacher pushing you, try to narrow in on one or two.</p>
<p>I had a feeling it was long. In your opinion, about how many words should it be?</p>
<p>Your typical college essays ranges from 500-700 words. You just want to avoid saying more than is necessary to convey your point.</p>

<p>The length requirements are arbitrary. The best advice I can give is to put yourself in an adcom’s shoes. What would he think about your essay? Bear in mind, yours will be one of hundreds he has to read. What you don’t want is for your essay to be tedious and lagging, which at this point it is.</p>
<p>You should not be writing about a 1st grade teacher. Or about Awana’s through 6th grade. You need something recent, something that shows who you are NOW, not that you were a gifted 7 year old. That is just too far in the past.</p>
<p>Your use of ‘I’ is crazy. go through and highlight every single one. it will become obvious. :D</p>
<p>I managed to pare mine down to 670 and fit it on 2 double spaced pages.</p>
<p>mine is 726 and it is 2 full pages… its supposed to be between 2 to 3 pages so i think the length is fine</p>
