My son received an email from Tufts stating that his file is incomplete and that the common application is missing. According to the common app website, it was downloaded by Tufts on 12/24. I see no one else has posted a similar problem. My son will fax a copy of his common app to Tufts tomorrow, but I have a few questions. 1) Why can’t Tufts download it again from the common app website? Is there a lockout after one download on the college end?
2) Is it possible my son’s common app is sitting in the file of another student with a similar name? 3) Is there a disadvantage to my son when his admissions officer is reading a faxed application and all other applicants’ applications are higher quality printouts?

i would call admissions, it would be best if he called. They would give you the best answers for your questions. I would also tell them about how it was downloaded and assure them that your son did everything he was suppose to do on time. As I am sure you know, make sure he stays calm on the phone and uses proper etiquette.

Another school i applied to had all my information, but all my personal information was wrong. They had me living in a different state with a totally random street address and phone number. They never told me why it was wrong, but a friend of mine said the personal information could belong to someone with a similar name and that the computer/person mixed up to the two. So, maybe something similar happened with your son’s common app.
