Common App Online

Seems like lots of people are turning in their applications online.
I’m thinking about doing this too, and what’s the advantage of turning the apps online?

Also, if you do turn in the app online, how do you send in the resume? Do you just mail it? And they do have your file even if the application’s submitted online, right?

Thanks.

Advantage of Online:

Makes it A LOT easier for the schools and you are less likely to miss files. Its recommended by almost every school whether they are on the common app or not…just use their online app if they aren’t on common app…I’m still not sure about resume.

It makes it easier for everyone.

My counselor said to add the resume to the Additional Info section of the common app, but others have recommended mailing it. If it’s just a straight list of events, put it online. Don’t give them anything extra to read unless it’s absolutely important.

And parikhs beats me to it. :p

Are there any advantages/disadvantages of using Common Application instead of a specific university’s online application?

Nope…

Advantage: Many schools waive the application fee if submitted online.
