Common App problems and oct 18 "statement of committment"

Our school’s guidance department forwarded to all of us a “Statement of Committment” written by Common App’s director of communications Aba Blankson explaining some of the problems and steps they are taking to correct them.

Since the common app is driven by word and character limits, it is interesting to me that this “statement of commitment” has 8,514 characters and 1,348 words – but the word “sorry” does not appear at all.

Weak.

Good catch. I saw it as a apology-non-apology. I feel very sorry for students applying this year-much support is needed for students/counselors/teachers to help them figure out how to submit the application or other paperwork.

I am curious when the application season is over as to how much CA will refund to colleges using CA.
