Common App question/Financial Aid

Seeing as how virtually 99 % of you alll have finished your applications, I’m halfway done! I’m applying as a transfer student, and I have a question regarding a portion on the common app site. It says to elaborate on an activity using 3000 characters or something. Basically I plan on studying film, and I’m most passionate about my crappy 5 minute edited home movies rather than what I’m actually good at: Tennis. I have a gazillion tennis awards, so do you guys think I should elaborate on tennis, which I’m not crazy about, or film, which I am?

Also, I just completed my FAFSA, and my efc was around 37,000, which is ridiculous in my opinion. Does carleton follow this efc, or do they determine their own? Sorry if this question was already asked in a previous post.

can’t answer the FAFSA question, but i think you should write about film. it would be MUCH more interesting. they’ll see the tennis awards on you activity list.

Creating movies is very popular among Carleton students! If that is what you are passionate about, then write about it. Do you plan on playing tennis at Carleton?

As for financial aid, Carleton also requires the CSS Profile, so Carleton may calculate your need differently.

Hey, I am a new transfer this year at Carleton, so if you have any other transferring questions, let me know!
