<p>I have been working at AK Food Mart, my father’s grocery store, for the past 4 and a half years because my father needed help and at the time couldn’t afford another employee.Initially, I worked at the counter, checking out people and bagging groceries. However, as I became more acclimated to the environment, I began taking over additional responsibilities such as managing the inventory, banking and other day-to-day activities. From the latter half of senior year in high school to this very day, I have worked up to 35 hours a week for my father. Although, this process has taught me a great deal about accountability and responsibility, what I value the most about this experience is that it has helped me realize that I fancied a future in business. Consequently, when I began attending Monroe Community College, I started to focus more and more on my studies because I knew that if I wanted a career in business to be a possibility, I’d have to have a potent tertiary education.</p>
