I remember this with my other child, but forget what he did. When my child copies and pastes essays into common app, it automatically bolds the text. The spacing between paragraphs is also huge, so unsure if that should be fixed or not. I have a vague recollection that maybe you weren’t supposed to because of how it transfers to schools and how they see it is different? Does anyone know?
Mine had spacing issues that I did not realize until after I submitted almost all the apps. I did unbold it, but the spacing between paragraphs was different for each break. But, I got into plenty of top universities so it was fine. I highly doubt they notice or care. So, I think you should just paste it in and adjust in the editor. Let common app do what it will do from there spacing wise. I think it does its best to make each paragraph remain on the same page, so that is why it is making the spacing funky.
Thank you!
There is a preview button on the top right that lets you see how it would look after submission.
That is the one thing that is different in the preview vs when you actually submit. No idea why.
