Common App -- Summer Programs/Classes

<p>Does it look bad to not have done any summer programs or taken any summer classes for credit? That takes up a whole page on the common app, and if you don’t have any, will adcom officers look down on a whole blank page?</p>

<p>(Clarification: I didn’t mean to ask if it looks bad to do nothing over summer–which obviously does–but to just not take any formal summer programs/classes.)</p>

<p>Absolutely not. Formal summer programs/classes cost money. If you don’t want to spend money on your summer, there are plenty of other things you can do to add to your app. Volunteering or having a job/internship are just as good.</p>
