Common App "Testing"

“In addition to sending official score reports as required by colleges, do you wish to self-report scores or future test dates for any of the following standardized tests: ACT, SAT/SAT Subject, AP, IB, TOEFL, PTE Academic, and IELTS?”

I’m looking into some very selective schools. Out of all of the above tests, I have taken the ACT and 4 AP tests. While I must send my ACT score to all of the schools I’m applying to, I did poorly on most of my AP tests (Including two 2’s). If I believe that the AP scores will only hurt me, should I just answer the question with “No.”?

Number of AP Tests you wish to report

A Yale admissions officer told me that if she sees a student took an AP class but doesn’t report a score for that AP test, she assumes that student got a 1 or didn’t take the test, both of which are worse than a 2.

You can put down that you took an AP, but not report the score. For example, I put down that I took AP English and Comp, but did not write the score since I got a 2. For my other AP tests I wrote down my scores as I got a 3 or above. I don’t think you should answer no, because then it’s like you didn’t take them at all.
