I’m caught between three:

Documenting how my job as a camp counselor taught me how to take initiative, focusing on one certain event.

Talking about how I wear sandals and shorts ALL year, even through winter, which is cold and snowy up here. I could connect this to how I do things that I like to do, which makes them that more enjoyable and less daunting (i.e. sandals are not fitting, but it’s what I’m comfortable in).

Talking about what I’ve learned from my DI teammates and how we all teach other. My examples would be me, as a male, learning to sew my costume, and myself teaching another member unit conversions.

1 or 2, but I don’t know a lot about 1

I feel like two would be the most interesting, but I just don’t know how I’d further connect it to me.

If you have time, try writing all three. I think you’ll get a feeling pretty early on as to which one(s) you’d really like to write - go for those.

I’m still a bit caught up on the sandals; I feel like it’s an interesting topic, I just don’t know if the entire paper should be about that or use it to connect to something further.

AHA! I could use DI to show the importance of diversity! Everyone there brings something different to the table: we have musicians, dancers, drama geeks, etc. Then, not only do we have the various talents at our disposal, but we are also able to teach one another something.

For instance:
Dancer taught me some stretches, which helped with my running.
One taught me how to sew, because I needed to work on my own costume.
I taught another how to do Dimensional Analysis, which was not only handy for our skit, but they were also to cover that material in her class.

Thoughts on my epiphany?

I also have a fun topic relating to my family, but I don’t know how I’d make it more about me.

The ‘diversity’ idea looks quite good…but remember not to make it sound cheesy
