<p>They did say that not waiving it will allow access to those official documents after you are admitted to the institution, so is it really important if you waive it or not?</p>

<p>I think that waiving it is generally better for your chances. It implies that you are confident that the rec is good, and therefore, that there was no way there could be anything defamatory written about you. This explains it better:</p>
