Common App, what to do with activities?

Beeing very poor, most of the projects I’ve had ended up being abandoned because of a lack of money (or because I couldn’t find anyone willing to commit to the project and my ideas were always too ambitious to be completed alone and with no money) even after spending big ammounts of time on them, should I add them anyway? As an example of such an activity, I have the following:

-Programmer and Designer, Indie Game Dev. Studio.
-I led a game dev. studio, unfortunately a lack of money, time, and commitment from my colleagues doomed the project.

Also, I’m currently writing a novel, should I add that as an activity? What about other personal projects that involve just me and a friend?

You can write anything there but I would keep a positive spin on it and not talk about it being doomed. Maybe something like “explored my interest in game development by experimenting with a game development studio” etc.
