Is applying to a college through Common App a negative factor? I wouldn’t think so; why else would an institution accept the Common App if it looked down on the Common App?

This is in a million other threads. Anyway, if a college preffered one over the other, they wouldn’t be allowed in the Common App organization. Think about it, why would they let you do both if they prefered one over the other.

sry about that. i was pretty sure id seen it in another thread. how about if i ask another question: many people post their AP scores in their “chances” posts. are AP scores actually reviewed (in other words, do they count) in college admissions? by the way, im sorry if this is in other threads too.

If you type keywords into “SEARCH” it will take you to already posted threads. But to answer your question, they don’t count. Since not all schools offer the same, or any AP’s it would unfair and horribly inconsistant to use them as an admissions factor. You can put them if you wish, but I think the people on the chance threads are trying to show off…“I got a 2380, what are my terrible chances, I know I won’t get in, give me that bad news now so I can kill myself because I won’t get into HYMPS…” You get my point. They are just trying to make themselves feel more complete and fulfilled, which I have no problem with, but in the adcoms, they don’t pull any weight. Don’t worry and don’t sweat the small stuff.
