<p>No, the Common App does not usually “crash” on January 1st. However, since everyone procrastinates, the system may be a bit slower. Don’t wait until the last minute to submit!</p>
<p>As for your second question, application deadlines are typically at midnight of the date posted for college’s time zone. So, yes, that would be 9pm for a left coast applicant to an east coast college.</p>
