Common application FY or transfer For international student

Hello,
I’m looking forward to apply for an university in USA. I tried to register to the common application website but it wouldn’t let me saying my ZIP code was invalid. Thus I sent them an e-mail to wich they replied :

Please find our solution below. We hope this helps you and we look forward to helping you again if needed.

Solution: Please provide the following information so we can create an account for you.

FY or Transfer

Full Name

Sex

Date of Birth

Permanent Address/City/State

Postal Code

Country

Area code and Phone Number

How did you hear about the Common App online?

Email Address

Would you like to allow your schools of interest the option to communicate with your via email? (Y/N) This choice can be changed after registration is complete.

Please do not send us your Social Security number.

I’ve no clue what is FY or transfer. Could anyone help me please ? And did somebody experienced the ZIP code problem aswell ?

Thanks in advance,

Cheers

FY or Transfer: are you applying for your First Year of college or are you Transferring from another college? (I’d assume that you’re First Year)

You might want to try again and just not put down a ZIP if your not in the US/Canada, just like you wouldn’t put down a state/province.

If you have never taken any college courses you are a Freshman - FY

If you have any college credits, you are a Transfer Student.

When you are completing the registration on the Common Application, try selecting your country before adding other address information.
