Common "tests" - AMC, AIME, etc?

I know of the AMC and AIME tests. Are there other tests out there that students can take to create more impressive college profiles or have an easier time applying to scholarships? Those are for math, but any kind of testing I am interested in.

Also, generally what are the benefits of taking and doing well on these tests?

Thanks.

Physics: F=ma exam, Semifinal exam, physics camp: The three rounds of determining who is selected to the United States Physics team to represent the U.S in the International PHysics Olympiad.

Chemistry: USNCO: The United STates National Chemistry Olympiad, which students qualify to by scoring the highest in their regional chapter in the local exam. Top scorers go to a camp and a few are selected to represent the U.S in the International Chemistry Olympiad.

Biology: USABO open exam: First round of the USABO, United states of America Biology Olympiad, which serves to determine the U.S team for the International Biology Olympiad.

USAMTS: United States of America Mathematical Talent Search: Proof based competition that begins in September and ends in January. Problems are posted on the website and solutinos must be either mailed or sent electronically.

National Latin/Spanish/French exams: Exams offered where you may win Gold, Silver, or bronze depending on your score.

These are probably the most notable “tests” along with the AMC. Performing exceptionally on these tests displays your achievement in that particular area and moving far in the science and math competitions can give you a great chance at the nations top colleges, especially MIT and Caltech.
