Can I use the '07-08 CommonApp recommendation form for '08-09 transfer application?

I’m applying for transfer next semester, but I’m going to get a professor’s recommendation this semester. The only problem is: the CommonApp recommendation form is explicitly for the '07-08 transfer schoolyear. The '08-'09 form is unavailable.

Is it unacceptable if I make copies of the filled-out '07-08 form and attach it to the '08-'09 application next semester?

I do not wish to wait 'til next semester because my work will be fresh in professor’s mind now. I also fear I will never sustain rapport or stop by his office for light-hearted academic banter. I have an alienating/quiet/misanthropic personality. I admit it. Let’s move beyond that. Why can’t I just get his recommendation right now when he’s amenable and I will not have a panic attack at the thought of asking for a rec?

I seek the shrewd counsel of overachieving nameless strangers on the Internet now. Steer me!

Though I am hardly an authority on the matter and as such would advise you to err on the side of caution, I cannot imagine a school not accepting the older form. That said, they may ask you to give your teacher a new one, in which case he would already have the old one photocopied (presumably), thereby eliminating your problem.

Or, ask the prof to write the rec now and let him know that you will provide a SASE and up-to-date form at the right time for mailing the rec next year (or whenever your app deadlines are).

He can write it when it’s convenient for him and will likely save it in a Word file to print out whenever needed.

I am going to give him the '07-08 form and ask him to make ~10 copies so I can use them for different colleges. Many of you say that he should only make 1 copy so that I can bring him an up-to-date form next semester. Would you advise against ~10 copies (I won’t stamp them yet, of course, but I will give him envelopes).
