Community College GPA considered for Grad School?

Hello - I am currently at a community college and will be transferring Fall 2018. My major is English, and have a 3.9 GPA up to this point (halfway thru SOPH year). I feel this puts me in a good position, as long as my LSAT score is what I hope it ends up being, to get into an excellent law school. However, I recently read that when a transfer student applies to law school, their grades from community college are not considered; only the ones from the 4-year institution (Junior and Senior year grades) are included in the undergrad GPA. – Don’t fact check me on this, I do not recall where I read it. May not have been a reliable source.

I was wondering if this has any validity. Anyone with experience or knowledge on this topic is welcome to give their thoughts. Thanks for reading.

When you apply to any graduate program, you will need to send official copies of all of your transcripts. Each place you apply to will have its own system for consolidating the information from your transcripts, and determining your overall GPA and/or GPA in coursework that is considered important for admission into that program.

So yes, your CC grades count. Keep up the good work after you transfer!

For law school, see https://www.lsac.org/aboutlsac/policies/transcript-summarization

The majority of graduate programs require all transcripts to be submitted.
