Community College Grades taken as a high school student

Okay, so i’m attending the same community college that i attended when I was a high school student. However, the grade I got as a high school student was not to great. I was wondering if that grade will affect my GPA. Thanks in advance.

Yes, it will affect your overall GPA. If you failed, you can probably retake it. Under certain circumstances, you may be able to petition to have that class excluded from your GPA, but no guarantees there. On the bright side, if you’re looking to transfer, you will accumulate enough units (hopefully with good grades) that you can offset one bad class. Also, if you explain in your application that you were a high school student at the time, not prepared for the rigors of the course, etc, and can show better grades in the classes you take now, they’re likely to be sympathetic.
