community college + laziness

when do students feel the most laziness in their 2 years at CC, before transferring to a four year?

my question is, do community college students get some form of senioritis their last semester or after having found out that they’ve been admitted as transfers…or both?

and it seems like the next two years will fly by…but it seems like the second year will feel the longest and go by the slowest, is this true? any opinions?

Yes, lots of the 2nd year, 2nd semester students at CCSF stopped caring after they got their acceptance letters. My first year flew by, I didn’t even notice it… I’m expecting the second to do the same.

I was laziest during my first semester thinking CC would be a breeze. Quite the contrary, as evidenced by my first semester 0.67 GPA lol. I was so embarrased to see my grades that a year passed before I looked at my transcript for the first time.

My gpa dropped from 4.0 to a 3.75 that semester (It may seem like I’m being pretty anal but granted thats a pretty big drop for community college gpa)

Anyway, I floated by my last semester with hardly going to class and not doing anything really. It was quite yummy in that I was able to refresh myself for this summer in which I am doing almost nothing as well.

But I encourage all of you to get sophmoritis your final semester at your CC…It’s like a hibernation of sorts; it’ll help you for the cold UCLA/UCB winter to come :)

lol really?

i figured that my motivation for overcoming ‘sophmoritis’ would be to remind myself that if i dont do great, i’ll get admissions revoked…

are UCs strict about transfers not getting lazy and doing poorly (Cs and Bs) last semester?

^ Just don’t drop below a 3.0 cumulative gpa or get any Ds or Fs and you should be fine.

i tended to get lazy during the spring semester of cc.

I tend to get lazy during any spring of any year :/

i agree with forgiven…i already know i’ll be lazy in the coming spring lol

i just have to keep this ***** up for one more semester! Then after that, it’s smooth sailing.

Dang, that is a pretty huge drop…

hey…what if you take a lot of summer classes and take enough units per semester, so that you can into a UC, and already have all your major prep and igetc ceritifed…then can you just not even take classes in the spring before transferring? because i could totally finish CC in one year and a half bc my major prep work and igetc overlap a lot

^ I think so.

i totally got sophomoritis… too bad i went to a UC … but good thing my next school doesn’t combine GPA’s :)

i had a 3.8, 3.6 and 3.1 for my last quarter lol.

i got lazy second semester and then on through year 2 and year 3.

year 4 and 5 and semester 1 were really good.

year 2 and 3 consisted of like 1 class and 5 w’s and lots of work.

semester 1 was good

year 4 was like 2 classes and a few w’s and year 5 was like 2 w’s and a 4.0 overall.

hey all ill be transferring to an ivy league university from a community college and am so happy about my cc experience. go cc students!!

hah i always get lazy in the fall, and hardcore it in the spring.

i did bad in the fall of last year (summer on my mind, fall, halloween, thanksgiving, christmas…why the hell should i study?) and then picked it up as the year went on.

I tend to do the best during short sessions like winter or summer, and it seems so chill too(depending on how many units to you too).

i got pretty lazy in my first year because i thought CC would be a breeze…my GPA wasn’t bad (3.78) but i have 3w’s…oh well. i’m more prepared this year.
