community college or university? HELP !!

Hi ! My name is Linda Wijaya and I’m from Indonesia. This year I am graduate from high school and I want to study in USA. I want to take business management major, and my goal is I want to get my study experience in NYU or UC Berkeley, which has the best business program in USA.

My grade in high school is pretty good, A+ or A-. My high school is one of the best school and has highest rank in Indonesia, SMAK 1 Penabur Jakarta. Because of my busy schedules in high school, I didn’t have enough time to prepare for SAT, which I know it is the most important test for me in applying to NYU or UCB.

Now I am admited to University of Delaware and Santa Monica College. My plan is I want to transfer from there in 3rd year. Which do you think it is the best for me to transfer from Santa Monica College or University of Delaware ? I know that it all depends on my GPA later, but what do you think the best path for me ?

I know college is cheaper than university. Thankfully money is not the big problem for my family. So, it is okay for me if i go to university than college IF university is the better path for me to transfer to NYU or UCB.

Thank you so much for your help. I really apreciated it. :)

Does the program at Santa Monica have a guaranteed transfer to UCB for the major that you want? If so, then you should study at Santa Monica. If not, you should study at University of Delaware.

Why? Because there is no guarantee whatsoever that you will be able to transfer into NYU or UCB from either of these places, and if you are already at University of Delaware, you can just stay there for all four years. If you start out at Santa Monica, you will have to transfer somewhere to finish your degree.
