Hello, all

my situation is little bit weird.

I went to the fine(?) university but I have really poor GPA(2.6?) and of course

No professors will give me an recommendation letter for graduate school.

And I’m also a foreign student.

I have to go back to my country for a while and I want to come back to USA for graduate school.

I want to know i can re-enter the community college.
after that I want to go to the graduate school right away

My main problem is the recommendation letter. Every graduate school requires at least 2

recommendation letters …

I can not think of other options… by the way I’m an engineering major though

is any community college in California has a good connection with Stanford or other good

universities ?

if you have a better solutions to my problem please

thank you

You can re-enter community college for another subject but it won’t help you get into graduate school for engineering.
You won’t be able to disregard your transcript, either.
You best bet - IF you have enough money - is to find a college that will accept you for a second BS where you’ll need to maintain a 4.0,
However I doubt you’d be able to get into Stanford since your first transcript will follow you. You’re not just lacking letters of recommendation - to even attempt grad school you’ll need excellent grades, ability to do research or presenting at a conference, etc (we’re not talking about Stanford here, but any grad school) you need 3.3 in engineering, and 3.5+ is preferable if you are aiming for a top school.

You don’t say what kind of graduate degree you are seeking but I presume a Masters. Your best bet is to work as an engineer for a few years and then apply to a Masters program that will consider your work experience as a plus and give you a chance to prove yourself in graduate courses. If you apply to a MEng program instead of a M.S. program your GPA may not be as much of hindrance if you have good GRE scores.

If you are after a Ph.D. you need to do what I say above with a M.S. degree and get research experience in the M.S. program in order to have any chance to enter a Ph.D. program. It is likely that your undergraduate GPA will preclude the most selective Ph.D. programs.
