Community college to UC

I am currently a second year student at a community college. I messed up really bad my first year and got 2 C’s in Chem 1A and English 1A, 1 W in Math 5A (1st semester Calculus), 1 D in Bio 11A, and 4 F’s in Bio 11A, Stat 7, Econ 1AH, and Math 5A. I since took summer school and got 3 A’s in Bio 11A, Math 5A, and Stat 7. I got horrible grades my first year because my grandfather died and the stress really messed me up. I was wondering if anyone had suggestions on what I should do?

get a new identity on the black market and start anew.

You are on the right track with repeating courses. I would continue to do this by repeating Econ1AH and Bio 11A. You can’t repeat classes with a C or better usually.

You might also want to look into your school’s academic renewal policy. That could wipe out everything from your first year, including the Cs. I’ve found that each CC has different policies regarding academic renewal so I can’t help with more of the specifics. At my school you have to wait 2 years to be eligible but at other schools they don’t have a time requirement. The policy should be listed on your school’s website.

Most of the time you need at least 2 years of solid achievement for academic renewal .
If you repeat all the classes you failed your still on track to have a decent GPA , not UCLA good, but ok, and 3.2 will tag you to most UC’s( not UCB or UCLA)

You should be fine as long as you repeat the classes you failed with Bs or higher.
