Is it possible for a student with perfect grades and test scores but no extra curriculars to transfer from a State Community College to an Ivy League school? If not, then what are the top universities to shoot for to obtain degrees in Computer Science or IT besides MIT? Also, if one makes perfect grades in CC, will he qualify for scholarships at these top universities?

Most CC transfers are to state schools, although a few go to Ivies. (except Harvard and Princeton which don’t take any transfers) Cornell takes the most transfers out of the Ivies, with Penn coming in second.

About half of Cal Tech’s transfers come from community colleges, if you’re looking for top-tier non-Ivies.

Most colleges have strict requirements for transferring, read them carefully.

I heard Northwestern takes a lot of transfers.

A friend (really, a friend) just needed some realistic expectations.

No Harvard or Princeton

Great info guys, thanks.

How about the academic scholarships?

Are they rarely given to CC transfers?

Also, he is currently on the Dean’s list.
