Hi all,

I am new to this site. I need help on writing college admission essays.
I am currently a sophomore in a community college, major in Fine Arts. Prior to that I had spent 1 semester in a 4 yr technical college but withdrew my classes there.

I planned to transfer into an Industrial design program. The 4 year college I went to has this major, but during the semester I spent there I realized that I want to go to an art school for this major, I also want to save money by getting in as a transfer. So I decided to transfer to a community college because the tech college does not offer studio art/ foundation courses.

So far I have taken nearly all foundation and liberal art courses at the CC. I am just short of math and science credits to receive an A.S in Fine Art.

Now as I am writing the admission essay for popular schools such as RISD and Pratt,
I do not know if I should include an explanation to all this in my transfer essays.

On RISD’s website for instance, it only ask transfer applicants to write “What is the most important thing you hope will have happened to you as a result of your time in the RISD community?” So do I just talk about that? Should I submit another essay or personal statement with it??

Thanks again.
