community college transfer

I’m a freshman General Education student at Community College in Florida and I’m currently enrolled in classes that are pre-requisites for an A.S. Degree in Cardiovascular Technology. I have yet to talk to my transfer advisor and I I’ve always thought of Dartmouth as the best school for Liberal Arts. I plan to pursue a career in Medicine, and I’m currently looking into transferring to other colleges after finishing with my A.S. degree for a Bachelor’s Majoring either in Biology or any pre-med program. I’ve looked at a lot of school that acccept transfers from collegeboard.com, and honestly i don’t know my chances.
I’m new to the American Educational System because my family just moved here in America a year ago. Right now, I’m 18, working part-time at a hospital and Walt Disney World. And during my spare time, I volunteer for Give Kids the World. I’m also volunteering for Red Cross when summer comes… I’ve been directed to Dartmouths’ transfer page by the person I contacted (It didn’t help much). I find going to a community college relatively easy because I’ve taken up some classes in a university from the Philippines, the community college I’m currently in disregarded my credits from the university I attended because the education systems are very different.

I’m going to take a lot of Gen. Ed classes…and also some are in planning for taking up alot of pre-major Biology. I’m crazy for taking up all these classes but I’m choosing the lesser evil…
+Freshman CompI
+Calc with GeomI

+Spanish

The person I contacted from Dartmouth said that they do accept applications for students who hold Associates Degree (and I made sure that I mentioned what A.S. degree I was going to take) but she just sent me to the transfer website…

Any help or info about this will be most definitely help. Thanks in advance.

The yield for the Class of 2011 was larger than the college expected so Dartmouth didn’t use its waitlist. The article also says it plans on reducing the number of transfers so it’ll be a hard year to transfer to Dartmouth.

uh…thanks for that but I might apply for 2012 because I plan on working in between, so can save some money…Thanks
