community college transfers

Are prospective CC transfer students at a big disadavantage when applying to selective schools? would a 4.0 from a from a top 50ish school be much more likely to get a thick envelope than a 4.0 from a community college, all else being equal? Do places like Cornell and UVA accept community college students who aren’t in their ‘articulation’ agreement?

prospective cc transfer students are by no means at any disadvantage, provided you are taking a rigorous program at the cc and not skating by. in fact, oftentimes a cc student will get in over an equally qualified 4 year transfer app, esp a top 50 4 year transfer app, due to the fact that the cc student has more reason to need to transfer and brings someone who normally would not have been at that school to it.
