Community Service (ApplyTexas)

I’m a senior in high school, and I’ve been filling out my ApplyTexas application. I had a couple of questions…

  1. Almost all of my community service is from my church (about 400 hours). On the community service part of the application, it says to list the place of service, description, total hours, and dates. I’ve been putting “Redeemer” as the place of service and then doing various activities in each description. For example…
  1. Redeemer Lutheran Church; Vacation Bible School
    1. Redeemer Lutheran Church; Fall Carnival

Am I doing this correctly?

  1. Does community service from the summer after eighth grade count? For example, I went on a mission trip to New Orleans the summers after eighth AND ninth grade… Do both count or just the one after my freshman year?

“Does community service from the summer after eighth grade count?” → Yes
“I went on a mission trip to New Orleans the summers after eighth AND ninth grade” → My son’s school does not approve hours related to religious organizations such as churches. Vbs volunteer is an exception, though.
