<p>I was wondering whether doing community service for an organization that is designed to help a certain race would look bad for college admissions. What I mean by this is if I were to volunteer for an organization with the words: Asian Initiative, African American Alliance, or Chinese-American Coalition, for instance, would that college admissions not like it as much.</p>
<p>I understand that it is just community service, which is good in any sense, but I was just wondering whether colleges might be disappointed to see that you are only helping your own race and that you are not “branching outside of your comfort zone” enough.</p>
