Right now as a sophomore, I have about 200 hours of community service hours completed at a local hospital.
Next year, I’ll be taking 5 AP’s in addition to the leadership positions I’ll have in two clubs at school. My dream school is Brown and I’m debating about whether or not to continue with community service next year. I don’t want to risk hurting my perfect GPA because of over exhausting myself during the week.
Does Brown really look at community service hours??
How much more would i need if they did?
Well, personally I would say go for everything … Junior year should be the climax of your college-related achievements. (lol) Someone I knew similar to you, took 6 AP’s, president of a club and some business competition things, won bunch of awards, volunteered, did everything you could think of, and survived (though I cannot see how … but she did it!), and in senior year she took more relaxing classes and cut down on the extracurriculars, and as far as I know she’s gotten acceptances to all the colleges she was aiming for. Only do it if you’re sure you won’t kill yourself in the process though. You can’t go to college if you’re dead.
