Community Service

Every year my family goes on vacation to Colorado. This year I have an opportunity to volunteer at an aid station for a 100 mile race through the mountains. I know it isn’t a huge thing but since it is unique will colleges look highly of it? Is it worth putting on my application? If I were to stay home I would be able to attend cross country (captain) and band (drum major) practices which are both very important.

I guess to make this more of a general topic, how much do colleges look at little, one time community service endeavors? In my case, it would only be a twelve hour ordeal, but is still unique.

I don’t know if colleges “will look highly of it”, but if it is important to you, you should write it down.
