Comparing Cal

comparatively speaking, how much harder is Cal then another university like UCSD? feel free to use examples for a bio major. is there just more work, tests harder, more material covered, etc?

Cal teaches you secrect equations no other universities know.

I would think that there will be a bigger percentage of very good students at Cal.

I think it would depend more on the professor rather than the school in general.

There may be times when Cal seems (or actually is) easier than UCSD, but the typical student would learn more from the Cal professor rather than the UCSD one.

Perfect example, I had a bio professor who was very much into research and purposely made the tests hard so that he didn’t need to do anymore work than grade 4 tests for 100% of your grade. The next year I took microbiology (which is supposed to be harder) but had a fantastic professor who had actually studied pedagogy (the art of teaching). The class was fun, engaging, and students walked out knowing a hell of a lot more than in the previous course.
