I took the compass reading and writing test for some cc summer classes, I scored a 94 on both of them, questions are: Is 94 a good score? How do my scores compare to ACT scores? I realize the ACT is harder by the way… Thanks!!
Compass is used at a community college? This website right? https://www.thelearningodyssey.com/
I don’t get it sorry :(( what’s your username and password supposed to be?
Your Compass scores are fine no need to worry about it! And also the courses you are going to take at CC will be real indicators of how you do in college!
its the one the teacher gives to you. I thought Compass was a high school thing unless I’m thinking of the wrong compass learning website.
Which Compass tests did you take? On the English side, there is a Reading (READ) test and a Writing (WRITE) test. In either case, the maximum score is 100, so you did well. It is hard to compare Compass scores to ACT scores (BTW, ACT makes the Compass test), because they have different purposes. Compass is a placement test to determine whether or not you are ready for college-level work. A score of 94 means that you are ready to take college level work, such as English Composition.
On the Math side, there are several different Compass tests. Which one did you take, PreAlgebra (PALG), Algebra (ALG), College Algebra (CALG), or Trigonometry (TRIG)? A PALG score of 94 means that you are not ready for college-level math courses. An ALG score of 94 means that you are ready for College Algebra, Pre-Calculus or Statistics. A CALG score of 94 means that you are ready for Pre-Calculus or Calculus (depending on the college). A TRIG score of 94 means that you are ready for Calculus I.
By the way, ACT just announced that they are retiring the Compass tests, effective the end of December, 2016.
