If two people from the same high school apply to the same private out-of-state school is it possible for both of them to get in? If they have the same extracurriculars, but one has higher scores. But the one with the lower scores meets the college’s requirements. Do both students have a chance in getting into that said college?
Yes, both students will have a chance.
You will be competing with thousands or tens of thousands of other students from many high schools, for many positions in the freshman class. I have definitely seen cases of two students getting into the same top school even if one had slightly stronger stats than the other.
My son’s class of 245 had 15 apply to Virginia Tech, 12 accepted and 9 attend. Happens all the time.
