competition

i have 5 very competitive girls applying to stanford like me, so will the admissions officer notice this and do they compare applicants from the same school? is this a disadvantage to me?

i am only really worried about one girl b/c she is an awesome debater/ pres. of debate, and stanford is big on that.

How do you think my ECs will compare (we basically have all the quantative things down)

i have written a research abstract (not published yet) at the insitute of orhtopedics and i will be self-publishing a book “Politics in America” hopefully before november 1st deadline

i know essays make a difference so i will focus on that. However, for the dorm room essay, do you write it as if you have already moved in or as if you are about to move in and you just want to tell the roomate something personal???

thanks-a-bunch

There are no quotas on how many students from one school can get in. But you will be compared. If all of you are strong applicants, you might all get accepted.

There is nothing you can do about other people’s applications, so don’t worry about them, work on yours, and hope for the best. Your ECs look good, especially if you got some sort of recognition for your research, and if your book had some good objective reviews.

You can write your roommate essay any way you want. The point is to tell something important about yourself that does not fit elsewhere on your application.
