Hey, as a sport/ECA, what about weight lifting? I haven’t heard -any- stories, information, or anything about anyone weightlifting. Of course, I’m not a state champ, or at least don’t plan to be (you never know), but would you think that winning a few competitions for your weight division would help more so than the typical sport?

i think it dosent matter what sport ur into, if your good at it thats the point that will help

I was a competitive Olympic Style weightlifter and was admitted. I think that it is unique for a student applying to Harvard (how many students do you know that play piano? Now how many compete in weightlifting?). However, I had two national medals in it and was highly involved in other ways (delegate to USA weightlifting’s national meeting and such). For me, it was a main part of my application. I didn’t have an impressive list of academic activities, only basic stuff.

In the end, I was accepted to Harvard, MIT, CMU, and JHU. Waitlisted at Princeton. Rejected at Yale.

as a high school student how do you become a delegate to USA weightlifting’s national meeting?

Thanks
