Complementing Computer science with linguistics

I decided to major in CS without any prior experience in programming; however, I’m worried that my inadequate knowledge will bring me down, so I’m wondering if taking a class in linguistics can help me understand coding language better (I’m enrolled in Cmpsci121). I really want to do well in class, and sorry if this is a ridiculous assumption because I have no idea what I’m doing lol

Since you have no prior experience, it makes sense you don’t know what you are doing. If you can think logically, you can do programming.

Linguistics has nothing to do with programming don’t take it unless you really like linguistics. Im also currently in cs 121. Its a pretty easy course. At least so far. The ijava book is pretty confusing but the Ta’s will help translate the complex language and terms they use that are new to you and me and say it in simple terms. It will help understand things. If anything take math or a logic course in some field to prepare you for the cs courses ahead.
