Completing loan paperwork pre-decision?

<p>Two of S’s schools are asking us to complete PLUS and Stafford loan paperwork now, before S has decided which school he will attend. DH and I find this disconcerting – is it a problem to just wait to do this until after May 1? At that point, I have no problem. I just don’t want two sets of signed loan papers floating about. I’d also like to see how need-based grant discussions work out before we sign our names to a loan.</p>

<p>Unless things have changed over the past couple of years, I see no reason to submit loan paperwork prior to making a formal decision.</p>

<p>One school asked for this info within 10 days of receiving the FA award letter. Seemed unecessarily soon to me – just wanted a reality check!</p>
