My question of the day - how much do AdComs expect high school students to do/have achieved?
I have many interests and hobbies outside school that I pursue passionately - including making music (with regular release/posting to my personal Youtube channel and Soundcloud page; I also have an EDM club at school where I am founder/leader), programming (I also have a volunteering EC related to teaching programming apart in addition to making programs on my own), and learning languages (with Duolingo but I take it seriously). These are mostly personal since I do these on my own, but I spend significant time (especially music) on them.
Are activities like that considered seriously? I feel pressured that the AdComs would low-key expect something like being signed with a record label and hitting some significant charts or creating a top-rated app or something. Not that I wouldn’t like to do those things (I’d actually love to), but it’s just that as a high school student there isn’t that much I can do, which I think is for most people. But I did the best that I could do within my reach, does this matter?
The idea of your application is to present what you HAVE done in the best possible light – don’t worry about what you haven’t done.
