Complexity Sciences (but in the US)

I’m wondering if anyone knows of the quality of education and graduates being produced by the complexity sciences graduate programs in the US (of Which I really only know Portland State’s Systems Science program. I know that others exist, but I’m not sure where nor their names.)

I’m currently in Taipei working on my Mandarin. I’ll probably be out here two years (obviously I’m planning for the future) and upon my return to the state’s i’d like to pursue either your stereotypical IR degree or a linguistics background, but with the presuppositions inherent in the Complexity Sciences.

Anybody got any thoughts on this fairly isolated part of academia?

So isolated I have never heard of it. What is complexity science?

Look at Arizona State (Center for Social Dynamics & Complexity).

Also, here is a link to the editorial board of the Complex Systems journal. You can see what programs they are affiliated with.

You could also consider joining a more traditional department and applying for a fellowship with the New England Complex Systems Institute.
