Compliments to O-Aides, Leaders, & Staff

Thanks to all for making move in to SCRH so smooth today. From the first greeting along 60th by very enthusiastic and friendly O-Aides thru the auto line up, to car unloading, I couldn’t imagine getting close to 400 students with waaaaayyyy too much stuff into the building so efficiently in an afternoon. Once in our daughter’s room, the RAs stopped by several times to offer assistance, answer questions, and invite us to stop by the Residence Masters for refreshments. For what was a rather exhausting and potentially stressful day, all of the students and parents we met were a pleasure. May the rest of the year go so well for everyone. Thanks.

Yay!!!

One of my good friends was in charge of moving kids in to the Shoreland last year, and she showed me a 14 page document that detailed move-in directions… I must still have the file on my computer…it’s one of the funniest things I’ve ever read (along with the 30-page Shoreland Assassins rulebook). But it WORKS.

anyway, it shows that the preparation really pays off!

hear, hear!

Another grateful parent here! I was so impressed with the overall preparation, care, and thought that the U Chicago community poured into the orientation week initiation experience for kids and parents alike.

I posted some of my reaction in the “40% acceptance rate” thread on this board.

I wish I had gone to a school like this when I was an undergrad. At least, I have the second best: that is, having a kid there!
